Action Rootbark—emmenagogue(used for dysmenorrhoea,amenorrhoea), abortifacient, galactotrophic.
The root contains abromine (betaine),friedelin, abromasterol, abromasterolA, choline, beta-sitosterol,
stigmasterol and octacosanol. Leaves,reported to be useful in treating uterine disorders, contain taraxerol, its acetate and lupeol.
