Action- Infusion of leaves—urinary tract disinfectant, antidiabetic,spasmolytic.The leaves contain a very small amount of an amorphous alkaloid.They also contain beta-sitosterol, hentriacontanone,hentriacontanol and quercetin-3-rhamnoside and hydrocarbons.
The bark gives an alkaloid, actinodaphnine.
