Ammannia baccifera Linn.

Family-  Lythraceae.
Habitat-  Marshy areas throughout India, as a weed.
English-  Blistering Ammannia.
Ayurvedic-  Agnipatri.
Folk-  Daadmaari. (Also known as Paashaanabheda.)
Action-  Stomachic, laxative,antirheumatic, febrifuge. Leaves—used externally for ringworm,herpic eruptions and other skin diseases; rubefacient.Leaves contain lawsone. Plant extract—antibacterial. Extracts of stem,
leaf and inflorescence are more effective as compared with the seed and root extract.
